This is not normal, this is not a show

My broother lives in Venice, Tomaso Borz as well.

‘One hundred eighty-seven. For the second time in history, after November 4th, 1966 (194cm) the high tide spread us out. Annihilated, stunned, defeated by nature that has decided today to repeat itself after 53 years. Last year 156cm ripped my front door, this year I was forced to keep the door open by hand despite the waves were still pushing the front door. I was also trying to figure out where there was the line between the end of the street and the canal, avoiding putting my foot in wrong place. Just to make it clear to those who do not live in Venice, water came to my hips. Boots were not necessary because the water came inside them anyway. And it was also really fresh. I hope we understand clearly that this is NOT a show.

The ACTV boats (public service) did not run, gondolas were crashing into shop windows, boats were in the streets, public lighting collapsed, bathrooms were overflowing with high water, restaurants were showing water at table height. Individuals and merchants are forced to deal with economic damages that will impose suffering on more families. I'm thinking of my veterinary friends struggling with a radiologic to throw away. I'm thinking of my bartender friends with the fridges to get rid of. I am thinking of the few remaining artisans who can only cry about their works. While uncontrolled tourism comes out on the street and takes photos of me while I keep the door open, but thanking me for being a "model".

But we have the Mose.

A costly euro system that doesn't work. While in Amsterdam they live below sea level.
If we are not able to create the future for ourselves, then let us surrender, let's put ourselves in the hands of abroad, we hope that someone who cares about this city will find a solution, I would like my son to grow up here and not that I am forced to tell him about "Once upon a time there was an Atlantis Venice". Please make sure that this city continues to live, that the residents can stay, I cannot think of having to leave, this is a place that must be a heritage of humanity. Other than political squabbles and so on, here we need the world community to realize that we are about to wreck.’
